I found the perfect one!
I found the Gripcase.
It is practical, elegant and funky.
The little one can pick it up, put it down hard and run with it and I don’t have to worry about hearing that terrifying “crack” that makes parents weak in the knees and puts wallets on diets.
The wife can browse until the cows come home with a functional handy grip on each side, and when it comes to bed time, reading is a dream. (see what I did there?)
The case doesn’t just look good, but it is super functional and protective too.
Gripcase managed to actually make “crumple-zones” on the edges of the case. The separation of the border to the actually iPad means that excessive energy, like a sudden drop, is diverted around the edges, as opposed to the actual device.
The designers managed to create a propriety compound of EVA (basically fancy foam) that would meet all the needs of any day-to-day use of an iPad.
Their Tech Specs page on the website mentions these benefits:
- Lightweight, – just 7.05 oz (that’s less than a short nonfat latte!)
- Shock absorbent
- Resistant to surface abrasions
- Mildew and bacteria resistant
- Stain resistant
- Washable
- Heat-shrink resistant
- UV resistant
- Fade resistant
- Soft and supple for comfort and ease of use
More good news? It’s available for iPads from the 2nd generation onwards, including the iPad Mini.
Even more good news? Gripcase makes other products too, including iPad stands, and charging stations.
What could be even better than that?
Oh yeah, I know. It’s already available in South Africa!
